We are in our last week of preparation before going into the MTC in Provo. It has been almost four months since we received our call to serve. This is an exciting time in our lives - going to a place we have never been, working with the people of the Philippines, hopefully teaching them how to improve their lives, preparing our thoughts for our farewell talks, leaving our family and friends for almost two years. WOW!
Our mission president has been in contact and has sent pictures of a home they have found for us to rent. It is located in a gated, private resort type community in Tarlac. Our office is located in a chapel in the same city.
We plan to update our site weekly and are excited to arrive in the Philippines. We fly out on Nov. 10th (it is a 22 hr. flight).

Hi Mary and Nolan! So glad you started a blog, it will be so nice to be able to keep up with you. You both did a great job yesterday. Best of Luck. Love ya.
What lovely thoughts you gave us to ponder with your talks yesterday! You both did such a great job.
I know you are loved by many people; the parking lot was overflowing out into the street both ways, and I saw many folks I didn't recognize that were there to bid you a fond farewell.
Me too! Time is short. Know that all of us here are wishing you the very best on your exciting mission call.
May Heavenly Father watch over you while you are away from us, and the Lord keep you in his care.
Farewell!!
We love you and wish you the best. You guys are going to be GREAT!!! Mary, even with your new hair color, you'll still be a blonde in the Philippines!!!
